The Government of Punjab has launched the Chief Minister Punjab Climate Leadership Development Internship Program, offering young graduates a chance to work on climate and environmental initiatives.
The program will provide selected interns with a monthly stipend of Rs60,000 for three months, along with an official government internship certificate after successful completion.
Training and Learning Opportunities
Interns will receive training through a structured Learning Management System (LMS) and practical exposure through fieldwork with the Environment Protection and Climate Change Department Punjab and the Environmental Protection Agency Punjab.
Participants will also work on capstone projects and receive mentorship from environmental experts to gain real-world experience in sustainability and climate governance.
Merit-Based Selection Across Punjab
Officials stated that the selection process will be conducted district-wise on merit to ensure representation from all areas of the province.
Importantly, 50 percent of the internship seats have been reserved for female candidates, encouraging greater participation of women in environmental initiatives.
