The Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has announced three public holidays on the occasion of Eid ul Fitr.
According to an official notification, holidays will be observed on March 19, 20, and 21, 2026 (Thursday to Saturday) across the province. During this period, all government offices will remain closed, except for essential services.
📅 Up to 5 Consecutive Holidays Expected
The announcement could result in an extended break for many employees:
- March 19–21: Eid holidays (KP govt)
- March 22: Sunday (weekly holiday)
- March 23: Pakistan Day
This means many government employees in KP may enjoy up to 5 consecutive holidays.
📢 Federal vs Provincial Holidays
The Government of Pakistan has already announced March 20 and 21 as public holidays nationwide.
However, KP has added March 19 as an extra holiday, giving residents of the province an extended break compared to other regions.
📌 Important Note
Officials clarified that essential services will continue to operate during the holidays to ensure public convenience.
The extended holiday period is expected to ease travel plans and allow families to celebrate Eid with more flexibility.
